Dearest fans,

Abunai “Looking for Group” is just 3 days away. All the maids are very excited about this weekend and are looking forward to it!

We’re very busy with preparing all kinds of things. Today our poster were delivered and the menu’s will be printed too. And in about two days we will shop for our ingredients and we will make home-made delicious sweets.

For the con visitors who dont know us and are curious about our full menu!? Then be sure to visit us during the convention ^__^ Our maid cafe is a relaxing place with nice music, delicious sweets & drinks! Gentle maids will serve you and you can also take a picture with our maids <3

Friday: 18:00 – 21:00
Saturday: 13:00 – 18:00

Opening times “Royal Roulette”

Saturday: 18:00 – 21:00
Sunday: 13:00 – 16:00

As you can see, our maid cafe will not be there for the full three days. This is because we will introduce our little brother “Royal Roulette”, a butler cafe presented by one of our maids. To be specific our head maid “Sharon”, possible by “Cybermaid Productions” who is also the owner of “Sparkling Potpourri”

vampire maids will be serving

This year Animecon theme is “Children of the nights”. Our mascotte “Hana-tan” and our maids have been bitten by vampire’s and will be serving as vampire’s during this year maid cafe event.

Be sure to visit our cafe, we will serve on the second floor at the location where also breaktfast and dinner will be served. You can’t miss it!

Friday 15:00-17:00
Saturday 11:00-13:00
Saturday 14:00-17:00
Sunday 10:30-14:00

We will also serve wiskey during the whiskey tasting

our maid cafe at Animecon 2011

Hello fans!

Good news! Sparkling Potpourri will be back at Animecon 2011. We hope we can do much more then last year, though last year we had a lot of fun too. We baked hot waffles and served sake at Animecon 2010 ^__^. But this year we hope we can have our full cafe and enjoy the fans and visitors much more!

Today is the day the maids will have a meeting. We’re going to have some fun with shopping with the girls while our manager Karim is making some nice curry rice for us. When the group is complete we’re going to enjoy the meal. We also want to serve curry rice at the conventions IF we have made an agreement with the hotel. So let’s hope we can!

During and after the meal we’re having some chit chat about cafe improvements. We already have made some decisions like: Mascot update by new artist and new flyer’s. Of course we also have to make an updated menu. Thats one of the things we’re going to discuss too. It also depends on the hotel. For example, if we cannot serve curry rice >_< we have to think of something else.

For now we have to wait for more answers our self, more up date’s soon!

Hello maid fans,

Abunai is just a few weeks away and then you can enjoy our cafe again ^_^.

At the moment we are very busy with preparations for this weekend. And of course we are very busy with making improvements too.

The things we will improve is the interaction between our customers and our maids. Thats also the reason we will introduce 2 new maids. So we have more time for you!

We will have games again, like last year. We also have a special corner for the photos So you can have a little moment for that.

Also we will organize a competition, but more information about that later.

We hope to see you in our cafe on Abunai.

At last our new website is online.
We hope you can all enjoy this new layout and can find all the information you want.

Our mascot had a make-over. Its still our very own cute hana-tan but in a different style. Last year we had more like a chibi-style.

Chibicon preperations

We are very busy with preperations for chibicon. We are looking forward to it and we hope you will all visit us again. For the people we know us allready form Chibicon, you can find us at the same place as last year. Enough room for the Chibicon visitors and to enjoy some sweets served by our maids ^_^.

In the upcoming 3 weeks, we will update you about the progress and information about our cafe.

Day after Abunai 2009

Abunai 2009 has ended.

And now i will reflect on last weekend.

In my previous post i didn’t have much good to say, i thought the cafe would be less successful as last year.
But i was wrong! Ok, so we couldn’t make any home made things and communication was rusty before the con…but almost everything was solved at the con itself.

The catering people were not that bad, sometimes they were bitchy about the water we needed…but that’s it.

The maid cafe was a huge success again!
We received lots of compliments about the food, the new custom made costumes and the service.
I think they key to this success was our team, 5 maids which had experience at previous con’s…and 3 new maids which were very good!
The team as it is now is a very good, enthusiastic and hard working group of motivated people

ALL of the food was sold out the last day of the convention.
The curry rice was sold out after the second day O_O
I didn’t get any complaints about food or waiting time since we had some house rules this time.

I would like to thank all the people that have visited us!
Please keep coming to our cafe at conventions and enjoy our food and service!

Day before Abunai 2009

Actually it’s the night before Abunai 2009, but I didn’t really have time before now XD. Anyway, communication was not that well with Abunai at the beginning. But things started to move the last 2 weeks and we could get stuff done!

Unfortunately, thanks to the catering at the location we are restricted in the things we sell. For example, the loved and very wanted home made products are banned. Products that need cooling are banned, we even had some trouble with the whipped cream! Communication and business with the location sucks so to speak So therefore our maid cafe will be kinda like last year, but only with some decoration improvements.

We were planning on going all out on this con, because the cafe was such a big success last year we had many plans for improvement. But alas, the only real big improvement are our very own custom made maid costumes. (only for the experienced maids) Improvements food wise are nil…because of the catering and the last minute communication.

I take my hat off for Chibicon…only 3 years experience and so well organized and professional. After chibicon i hoped that Abunai would treat us the same, but i guess the location just wont work along with them or something.

My sincere apologies for the lacking choice in our products, i hope next time we will have more products…if they let us. After Abunai I will discuss the future of Sparkling Potpourri held at Abunai! So, stay tuned for my post after Abunai 2009! (and for the pictures ofcourse )
