Day after Abunai 2009

Abunai 2009 has ended.

And now i will reflect on last weekend.

In my previous post i didn’t have much good to say, i thought the cafe would be less successful as last year.
But i was wrong! Ok, so we couldn’t make any home made things and communication was rusty before the con…but almost everything was solved at the con itself.

The catering people were not that bad, sometimes they were bitchy about the water we needed…but that’s it.

The maid cafe was a huge success again!
We received lots of compliments about the food, the new custom made costumes and the service.
I think they key to this success was our team, 5 maids which had experience at previous con’s…and 3 new maids which were very good!
The team as it is now is a very good, enthusiastic and hard working group of motivated people

ALL of the food was sold out the last day of the convention.
The curry rice was sold out after the second day O_O
I didn’t get any complaints about food or waiting time since we had some house rules this time.

I would like to thank all the people that have visited us!

Day before Abunai 2009

Actually it’s the night before Abunai 2009, but I didn’t really have time before now XD. Anyway, communication was not that well with Abunai at the beginning. But things started to move the last 2 weeks and we could get stuff done!

Unfortunately, thanks to the catering at the location we are restricted in the things we sell. For example, the loved and very wanted home made products are banned. Products that need cooling are banned, we even had some trouble with the whipped cream! Communication and business with the location sucks so to speak So therefore our maid cafe will be kinda like last year, but only with some decoration improvements.

We were planning on going all out on this con, because the cafe was such a big success last year we had many plans for improvement. But alas, the only real big improvement are our very own custom made maid costumes. (only for the experienced maids) Improvements food wise are nil…because of the catering and the last minute communication.

I take my hat off for Chibicon…only 3 years experience and so well organized and professional. After chibicon i hoped that Abunai would treat us the same, but i guess the location just wont work along with them or something.

My sincere apologies for the lacking choice in our products, i hope next time we will have more products…if they let us. After Abunai I will discuss the future of Sparkling Potpourri held at Abunai! So, stay tuned for my post after Abunai 2009! (and for the pictures ofcourse )
